The KBL (link in my .sig) is just about finished with the first season's championship and we'll be going into free agency and the draft pretty soon. It's an active league with intelligent, creative and mature owners and we've got five teams (Kilimanjaro, Kongo, Mombasa, Timbuktu and Berber) that are currently under computer control (including one that nearly made the championship series).

I am a little surprised that there has not been much talk of new fictional leagues with the release of OOTP6 nearly upon us.

I've seen seemingly dozens of current player, real team leagues advertise as being in the works but little from anyone putting some actual imagination into a fictional or unique league concept. Are all the good ideas taken?

It also seems that there are a number of older fictional leagues with openings taking longer to fill them so perhaps the saturation point has been hit. Still, with v.6 on the way, I'd think there would be more activity in creating new and unique concepts rather than the run of the mill "I'm starting a new real player league, every team is open but the [commissioner's team], first come first served" type of announcements.

Maybe people are waiting to play around with the functions, LL. I'm sure once we know the power of editing aging routines, creating 'specialised' draft classes etc there will be a ton of interesting ideas, if not based on these features then certainly using them.

I think you're right Doug. I know I want to play around with the new features in OOTP6 before I jump into a league using them. I'd hate to screw up my team just because I didn't know how something worked.
