Has anyone noticed this about our scandals of late?
Why is it just about every cheating scandal we have had of late has been involving real roster teams? I think this may be my #1 reason why I wont join a "real" league. It just seems like the "wrong" crowd gets caught up in that kind of thing. Anyone have an explanation for it?

a) The majority of leagues ARE real roster.
b) It's possible a commish would be annoyed a player is not performing "as he'd expect" c) Cheaters don't have the attention span to learn a whole new set of players? ...i don't really know.

It's long been my theory that real roster leagues (filled with real top "spects"!) are more attractive to the younger, less-mature folks that are prone to take an easier route to winning via cheating. If you are going to take such underhanded shortcuts, who wants to take the time to learn fictional or historical players? It seems it would be easier to join a league where they already are familiar with the players.

Crackpott’s explanation c seems accurate to me. Weak, cheating minds have weak imaginations. A cheater’s character is too paltry for him to have the stamina and attentive powers necessary to fill in all the details of a fictional league.
The commissioner of an online league that he has designed, real or fictional, can cheat easily. When a commissioner cheats and isn’t able to cover his tracks, he’s inept. |
