FPS Commish moving to OOTP5
I am getting ready to start my first OOTP league as Commish, and I had some general questions that I did not see on an FAQ. (I am currently finishing up my last season as Commish for a FPS-BBPRO98 league and want to move to something better.)
1. Is there a way to normalize the finances to minimize the "small market" vs. "large market" parity in an online league? I want to avoid too much disparity between teams' available finances. 2. If I have a smaller league (14-18 teams) and want to have all teams play each other in the regular season, AND want playoffs; can I do this? I know you need multiple divisions to have playoffs, but I don't see an option to have the schedule bridge divisions (ie. interleague play). 3. I see that if I upload the "League File", those with the game program can edit that and I can import their changes. Is this "league file", the giant *.lg directory, or is there a concise league file that is updated? Or is this done with the individual team *.CSV exports/imports? 4. Finally, I see the option to have your league on the OLS (online league server). What does this mean? Is this free, or is there a charge? Thanks for your help. |

1. Yes, in OOTP you can set all markets to "average"
2.Have never tried, but I'm pretty sure it's possible. 3.Yes they import their lineups to a server or they can all email them to you, and you just simply goto Online League Setup and import all from server. Or if emailed, then you goto each individual teams, "team setup" menu and import from there. 4.I think it's still that if you get 12 GM's in the league that have OOTP5 you can have them email Andreas Raht their ordering information and you can get space on the server. For #4 go here http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...threadid=33988 I would suggest for 1-3 doing a search, you can find alot of information via that.

1) Go to League Setup, Advanced Setup, and press Adjust Team Markets. You can also edit each team by going to that team, there front office, and turning the editor on (its in the upper right corner)
2) You have to go out of your way to turn interleague play OFF, so far that I'm not sure how to do it. You can edit the schedule or even make your own using the Edit Schedule Function in League Setup. 3) Giant .lg file. You zip it of course. It's prudent to remove box scores everynow and then to keep it small (some do that for every file) and you can have the box scores online in a folder so that they may downloaded. See Ud's post for the rest of 3. 4) See Ud's post for 4. The one thing is that you can only send your order ID in once, in other words you can't do it for two different leagues. |
