HOF League Question

When Version 6 is released, I plan on creating a small draft league based around HOF players. I was interested in what people would suggest I choose for the era of the game in order to balance the early century players with the late century players?

When I had DMB they figured out the 1950 season was actually the closest to the mean of all-time statistics and used that season as their game default.
