Fan Interest

Just wondering how long into a season do you have to be successful and be in contention before your Fan Interest starts to rise and how fast will it rise?

Also, how many games out are you considered being in contention?

Fan interest is most sensitive early in the season. After my first year (2003) with the Tigers, my interest dipped to 22. After 1 1/2 months with a .500 winning percentage and being in second place, it has jumped to 27.

And promotions help. If you win a game the day of a promotion, you will likely see a rise of one point the next day. I try to schedule my promotions against teams I have a good shot of beating with hopes of boosting fan interest. Ticket prices also have an affect. Higher prices will turn off fans.
