Post Dangers of changing divisions

In my 16 team solo fictional league, I switched from a 2x8 setup to 4x4. I've discovered a couple interesting things:

1. Box scores get skewed. I understand restructuring is supposed to take place between seasons, and now I see one of the reasons why. I changed the league structure about 10 games into the season, and many of the box scores from those first 10 days got switched around. For example, the team I'm controlling shows a different game's box score on those 10 days. I tried going to the schedule screen of the teams in the game which replaced my box, but my box isn't on their page. So it's not that the boxes are simply swapped. I can't seem to find my box scores for those games anywhere.

2. Fan interest took a major nosedive. I'm currently about a month and a half into the season. I played a team who had about 15000 fans show up. Checked their fan interest and it was 12. It had been in the high 60's at the end of season one. Looking at the attendance chart, I noticed that this team had respectable attendance levels for the first handful of games. I checked other teams, and sure enough, all the teams I moved into the new divisions had fan interests of 6-15, and all showed high attendance for the first few games before the switch was made.

If I had added the divisions between seasons, the box score thing would have been avoided, but I'm curious if the fan interest drop would have been avoided as well.

I was able to just edit fan interest back up to a respectable level, but be sure to check this out if you change your league structure!
