Question Upgrade to XP, must re-license

I recently upgraded to Windows XP, and now when I click on OOTP5 I get the licence screen. I saw the info posted here, and of course it tells me to write something down, which I didn't read before the upgrade. Am I out of luck? I only installed the game once when I first pad for it, don't you get so many licenses with each purchase? Thanks.

you may have to call via-tech. Go to the FAQ section and look
for a thread Steve made on that subject. It should help.

Email them with your info and they most likely will give you your license back. I've run into this problem before.

EDIT: Also, you get 2 licenses with each purchase ID.

After you re-license after an upgrade, can you continue to play a league you started? Or do you need to start a new league ?

Leagues can continue, this does nothing to the leagues you have created.

well as long as you didnt have to format your hdd which i dont think an upgrade would do the info on your hdd should still be there.
The license doesnt really have a lot to do with erasing the game and your leagues, its function is to give you permission to play the game.
So unless you deleted the lague by accident , it should still work.

Yup, I got an e-mail back with my password. Upgrading only effects what is in the C:\Windows folder, so anything in C:\Program Files, or any other folder is not affected. I assume the license file was in the windows folder, so that was the only part of the game that was lost.
