How to win in the Golden Era?
Hey I just started a solo-league in 1947. Im now in 1951 and I have won nothing. My team is on the downhill instead of uphill. In the Modern Era I seem to know what it takes to win. I know what ratings to look for etc. For some reason I can put a team together that I think looks good and they will usually go out and perform the way I thought they would. However in the Golden Era I can't seem to do squat. You guys got any strategy/Tips? This really worries me since the KBL will be set in the Golden Era.

You're asking this after posting this:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...threadid=52075 Kieran, watch out for this guy in the KBL, IMO. |

Apparently cheating the game is not beneath you.

OMG... I was just saying in an online league if there were no rules saying you couldn't do something and other owners were doing it, then I would do it.

Check the leagues out there that use this time period. Look at the winning teams and do what they do. Look for players that help them win.
I think this question has nothing to do with cheating but strategy and ratings advice. With each ERA, you do have to mold your team to that time period. This question should be one of any GM entering a historical league they are not use to. Seems like what you thought as an innocent statement was taken to the other extreme. These guys run some of the long time leagues and do their best to run them fairly. Yes the game has some flaws, but these guys find ways to close them. I think it very fair what was said in the other thread but here not so. Lesson learned in the other thread is pretty plain to me, the long standing leagues/GM's not only want fair play but demand it from all it's GM's. It was a mistake on your part jmaness84, it was worded very poorly. Taken at face value for good reason. Saying you are a GM different then the way you Commish would bother me even more. This you should explain to the Commish's in the leagues you are in as Kieran and Neef have asked. Take this 2 cents as you wish, but a retraction would be your best next step.
