Nodirectdraw

I just got the game. I'm trying to start it for the first time and I receive this message:

( The Window is Titled: CreateSurface: Backbuffer)
NODIRECTDRAWHW

So I click ok and then another window titled: "InitApp" Says:
Erro InitDirectDraw.

Poopy. What seems to be the problem?

Go into the OOTP5 folder and open the "game config" file, toggle the 3d setting, close those things and try the game again.

If that doesn't solve it, go to start then run and type dxdiag and hit enter. The direct X utility will open and it will let you know what version of direct X you are have installed. If it is less than v9 go to http://www.microsoft.com download and install v9, reboot your computer and then try the game again.

One of these two things should get things going. Please let me know if you are still having problems after trying both of these.

Yeah disabling the 3d thing worked but it'd be nice if the game would look as. . .nice. . .as it looked in the preview. I allready have directX9.0b. Any other suggestions?

Color depth, updated video card drivers, screen res at 1024x768.

Hi thanks for the help. I had just installed a new version of windows and I needed to update my display driver. Everything works great now. Thanks a lot.
