Help! My Pitching Staff is Decimated by Injuries. Why!?
I'm in the fourth year of my Career and I have been performing fairly well as an organization.
The current year of my league, I have rolled the dice to win it all and took on the highest payroll in the league. The team was rolling along okay until I have had a string of injuries to my team that has 8 of my major league roster players on the DL; many of them who are out for the season. The injuries have hit my pitching staff especially hard. For example: Jason Booth - SP (2.0 Gold Stars) Out for Season on 5/24/07; Enrique Duda - (4.0 Gold Stars) - Out for Season on 8/6/07; James Feliciano - (4.0 Gold Stars) - Out for Season on 8/13/07; Warren Russell (2.0 Blue Stars) - Out for Seven Weeks on 8/19/07; and, Sergio Valasquez (4.5 Blue Stars) - Out for four weeks on 8/9/07. I understand injuries are part of the game, but this is getting ridiculous! I also have key positions players down, including: Benjamin Torres (5.0 Blue Stars) Catcher - Out for Season on 7/29/07; Florencio Alonzo (2.0 Gold Stars) 2B - Out for Season on 6/5/07; and, Leo Castillo (4.0 Gold Stars) LF - Injured for 9 - 10 weeks on 7/5/07. I also have a SP who is Day-to-Day who is still on the Roster, but I can't really afford to take him off at this point. Is there a reason for this string of injuries? Is this a known flaw? Could this have to do with how I'm handling my players? Could this have to do with the tendencies of my coaches? I am afraid to sim any further at this point as I'm past the trading deadline so I can't trade for reinforcements! Thanks in advance. Bill R. |

Well, you can check your injury frequency if it is a solo league as it maybe set too high in the "league setup", other than that it's just one of those things that can happen IRL. One of the challenges of being a "manager".
