Playing Game -- Crash Involving Pinch Hitters

I'll be as specific as possible describing this problem. I was watching Game 3 of the World Series, i.e. both teams were set to computer managers. Late in the game, extra innings, LA sent in a pinch hitter. But the next inning, it said: "There is a new : Angel Pena" Pena stayed in the game, and so did the pitcher. I said, hey, that's not fair, so I clicked defensive roster to try to fix it. It didn't allow me to remove Pena, because it's on computer manager. I also couldn't return to the game, because I got a "Lineup Incomplete" error, justifiably. So now I am stuck on that screen... I'd really like to know if there's anyway I can fix this without quitting the problem, as the game is in the 13th inning of game 3 of the WS, and I'd like to see who wins, and not have to do the game all over again. Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE: I was finally able to return to the game by going to the other team's lineup and hitting continue game. However the bug is still there. LA is basically playing without a pitcher in their lineup (the game is in LA.) Hopefully this can be fixed somehow.

It seems that the computer is unable to insert a starting pitcher into the game, even in extra innings. The LA pitcher had been tired for 5 innings, but he was the last man in the pen, so he couldn't be taken out. But the computer still pinch hit for him, and since it couldn't insert another pitcher, he just stayed in the game anyway. Maybe this is something that can be fixed in the next patch.
