Dat Files for Stadiums
I downloaded Soxman's really killer Historical stadium zips. I don't want to pull the dat files into my main OOTP5 files (i seem to remember reading in this forum that is a bad thing) is there a way to "read" this type of file so the information can be manually entered? When I unzip the yearly dat files, it will open word, and give me a bunch of symbols. Any thoughts?

If you unzip the dat files into your historical league folder it is only that league that they will have any effect on.
What ' bad thing' do you think will happen? Cheers. |

Someone had indicated it would "erase" the existing dat files for OOTP stadiums. But I gather, from your post, it will only effect the league I pull it into (I'm not know for my computer skills, trust me).
Now, I don't run a historical league (its a non-historical historical league--if that makes any sense), but I do use classic stadiums, is there a way to pull out the individual ones I need, or should I create a "dummy" league to gather the info and then manually enter the info?

You can try creating a dummy league and loading your stadiums into it. Then you can export them one by one and import them into your league, but unfortunately the process isnt very intuitive.
If you are worried about losing the default stadiums just back up that file.
