WTS Openings, 4 Teams Available! 2004 Trade Deadline Tuesday Midnight!
WTS is seeking Four good, active GMs. Active doesn't mean trading necessarily, but more of an emphasis on lineups, live sim attendance and message board activity, which will become mandatory after we've gotten a new, revamped message board up.
WTS Main Page! WTS started out using 2003 rosters, and began back in May of this year. We're currently in the 2004 season, now at the Trade Deadline. League History is a bit messed up due to some problems when I first took over as Commish, but I'm working to correct any errors or ommisions. I'm also tweaking the rules as I go in order to streamline things, nothing major will be implemented until next season and is so noted, but it's all in the Constitution. Things like veteran international players and a prospect league to draft from are being worked on already for next off-season. I do my best to keep WTS active and fun for everyone, and hence don't have a lot of patience for those who make no effort with the league. Four GM's were fired yesterday, three for inactivity (two of which had sadly, only been in the league 2 weeks.) and one for cheating, I'm sad to say. One also quit today as they realized they don't have time to sit down and look at trade offers, etc. I am asking that those who wish to join own OOTP5. In the past we allowed all to join, but since I've started a new year of University it's too much work to sit down and punch in 20-30 lineups at a time. I'll get any GM candidate to do a test export for me, just to verify that you've got a working copy of OOTP updated fully so there's no compatability problems. Email me with this information... or contact me with it over AIM. Name: email address: AIM Handle (must have AIM): OOTP Sim Experience: Team Preference (ranked 1-4) Here are the available teams: Seattle Mariners 55-52. 2nd in AL West. Led by Rafael Soriano, Sammy Sosa, Kaz Sasuki and Chris Snelling. Milwaukee Brewers 41-66. 4th in NL Central. Led by Derek Lowe, Jose Contreras. Minnesota Twins 64-44. 1st in AL Central. Led by Johan Santana, All Star MVP A.J. Pierzynski, Aubrey Huff and Eddie Guardado. Colorado Rockies 40-68. 4th in NL West. Led by Todd Helton and Pudge Rodriguez.

Not to be negative as I know everyone likes certain things a certain way, but two things turned me away from the league.
#1. Coaches on #2. Team Strategies, Stealing, Hit & Run, Sacrifice Bunt, Squeeze Bunt, Bunt for hit, Pinch Hit, Pinch Run, Pull Starting Pitcher, Pull Relief Pitcher, Pitch Around, Intentional Walk, Favor Lefty Vs. Lefty Matchup, guard lines, infield/corners in, are all set in the middle, these strategies cannot be edited, they will remain even for each team. Have no use for coaches as I find they create unbalance in a league. (Just my personal experience) Not being able to tell my speedy CF to steal every chance he gets, whom I spent a lot of time developing specifically for that reason doesn't make sense to me. Again, just my personal experience/preference. I like to build my team around pitching, defense, speed. If I draft a guy who is A/B speed and stealing, I want to be able to send him most of the time. Part of my strategy..... ![]() Very nice web site, can see a lot of hard work has gone into developing this league. I wish you continued success and hope you fill the vacancies quickly. |

Bruce,
Thanks for the input... I appreciate it. One thing though, coaches are not currently on I was planning to turn them on for next season, but having talked to some other commish's... I'm not sure that's a great idea. That team strategies rule is also incorrect in the rulebook. It should've been changed a while ago... It was originally set up that way by the league's original commish because most of our GM's did not have OOTP... and you can imagine how much it would suck setting that stuff up for EVERY TEAM ![]() We've got a bit more of a mix now... and GM's with OOTP can set their strategies however they wish, as can GM's without. My apologies for that oversight... I hope it hasn't discouraged others from joining *goes to update constitution accurately*

Bump!
Angels were taken over by our own Rockies GM, who's fed up with Coors Field. so now we have no Angels open but Rockies instead.
