Wrong pinch runner after brawl/ejection
I'm using the 5.12 patch and am playing a game interactively. I'm up and my batter gets hit by a pitch and charges the mound. After a 2 minute brawl, both the pitcher and batter are ejected. I pick my pinch runner, Modlin, but when I get back to the game screen, I find the new reliever for the other team also on first base.
Very weird.

Wow, I was playing another interactive game and got another brawl after a bean ball and the new pitcher is at first again. I think this is defintely repeatable.

I just finished a few games in the past few minutes, and the *EXACT* same thing happened to me - batter hit, charges mound, pitcher and batter ejected, and the PR and new pitcher are the same guy - the opposing team's new pitcher.
Definitely looks like a bug that can be duplicated as above. |

The bug has been reported numerous times, hence is well-known. However, looks like it also is well-hidden and Markus hasn't found it yet.

I just had this happen in my game as well. Lieberthal (the batter) was ejected for fighting after he was hit by a pitch. I then replaced him with Pratt, but instead of Pratt taking first base, one of the opposing teams players did.

Same thing just happened to me with Patch 5.13. The reliever Justin Speier was put into the game as both the reliever and pinch-runner. He eventually came around to score (and got credited with a run scored), but also got charged with the earned run.

Verified again
The box score shows the correct pinch runner, as do the lineup screens. But the in-game display shows the opposing pitcher on base, and when the runner scores, it is credited to the opposing pticher as well (in the box score).
I should add that the original starting pitcher and batter become listed as "Unavailable" rather than "ejected", so that could be part of the same bug. Didn't leave the runner in after the inning, so not sure what would happen after this point... This was in 5.13 Last edited by Godard; 10-20-2003 at 10:09 PM. |
