Are salaries prorated?

I did a search on this and nothing turned up.

Does OOTP5 prorate players' salaries? For example, if I bring up a minor leaguer, does he get the entire $300K for the year whether he's on the roster for 60 games or 162 games?

I also had the same question regarding signing a free agent to a big league contract. Assuming an asking price of $400K/year, I could be paying the equivalent of $1M/year for a scrub for the last 60 games OR I could be paying $150K (the equivalent of $400K/year if the salary is prorated).

Salaries are indeed prorated. You pay a player's salary per game (or day not sure really). This is reflected in the "Player Expenses So Far" field on the finances page.

I thought they were prorated as well. Is that just in trades though? I found this too.

Did a little experiment...2 team league...simmed about 120-130 games...signed a player for 50M...in the finances screen "Payroll" went up 50M, "Expenses so far" stayed constant...simmed the rest of the season...at season's end "Payroll" was about 35M higher than Expenses...so it seems that it is prorated...
