Phillies on SI Cover?
With the Phillies winning the World Series on a Wednesday night, the question is do they get the SI cover next week?
Three years ago the same thing happened to the Chicago White Sox, breaking an 88-year title drought not a 28-year one. The White Sox didn't get the cover. What happens this time around? |

SI did make a special edition just for the White Sox so they may do the same thing for the Phillies if they don't put them on the regular magazine.

I can see it with the phrase PHAN-TASTIC PHILLIES in the headlines.
I am sure that they will be the cover story... |

The Sporting News is a far better publication than SI...I haven't opened a SI cover in 20 years, so could care less. I actually glanced at a ESPN the magazine once...it is like a rag mag for sports, Sports Enquirer with glossy photos of Tom and Gisele, Romo and Jessica etc.

I think the Sporting News is frickin awful.
Actually, I think they're *all* awful right now. Baseball America and Pro Football Weekly are about all I read anymore. |

For what it's worth, Scott Podsednik's walk-off against Lidge was on the previous week's cover. |

BA landed on my awful list when they started asking for almost $100 a year for a subscription.

Albert Haynesworth is on the cover, with just a small bulb on the top about the chaos that was the '08 World Series.
