I'm all for it as long as they don't cry. Cuz as we all know, there is no crying in baseball.

I have said this a million times, and I will say it again....

There is no such thing as a Yankee hater... There are those who love them, and those who are jealous of there success....

actually , that is not true

i hate yankees because they have 100M$ to pay for players , while some other team have to deal with half of that.

i hate yankees because their owner want to move the Expos away from Montreal.

i hate yankees because if Guerrerro ever leave montreal, it will most likely be for the Yankees, since they will give him just about anything he wants...

Yankees Destroyed the baseball as we knew it...

They have that money because their owner wants to win... Personally I dont like Steinbrenner, but he is a winner. An example, how long did Disney, one of the most financially stable companies in the world, own the Angels, and never spent any money for a winner there, not even last year.

Thats because the Expos draw 8,000 fans per game, and most of them are probrably group outings with the little league. You guys dont support your team, you dont deserve a team as good as the Expos. They would be better in a place that would support them, and its not George thats wants to move them, its all 29 other owners, including that so-called commissioner.

Texas owner, John Hart, or whatever the hell his first name is, destroyed baseball, when he paid one player more then Giambi and Jeter combined salaries are... Don't hate the hater

you make me laugh when you say we draw 8000 fans every game....

because the current owner of Marlins, Loria, decided to destroy the team when he didnt even spend a single penny in the team and decided to cut all the fans from any coverage when he decided not to deal with any TV channel....

and all of a sudden, he move to florida, and decide to offer 100M to build a new stadium....

and you could as well count on the 1994's story, where we were actually doing great, until player decided to go in vacation....

in 1995, when the baseball got back on track, we had lost almost all of our team.

oh, and last year, Marlins draw less people than expos at their stadium, but someone (which no one know how it is) bough something like 10k ticket to get a better average than expos....

My god, I don't think anyone can be desperate enough to buy 10,000 Marlins tickets !

Can anyone come up with a good way to use 10,000 Marlin tickets ? I think if you trade them all in at Chucky Cheese, you can pick out a real cool plastic do-dad, like a whistle or something.

just a question for paulywerner...how many games in the playoffs has the Yankees sold out this year? if i'm not mistaken they didn't sell out any of their home games against hte twins...i may be wrong, i jsut remember seeing LOTS of empty seats

why would i want a team that can't sell out playoff games? you must be a big business guy because it is all about the money, you cheer for a team that has to spend almost 200million dollars to win...when a team like Marlins this year, Twins this and last year, A's this and last year, Angels last year and many others can spend well less than half of that and make the playoffs also

if i were you or steinbrenner, i would be jealous of a team that can spend less than 100million and still win the WS or get to the playoffs

First off, they sold out every game

secondly, i would be more embarrassed if they spent $160mil, and didnt make the playoffs... Third, I could care less about the money, because I was a die hard fan when the Yankees were losing 90 games every season, in the late 80's and early 90's...

I wish I still had the posting link for the story I put up regarding the payroll, but basically it proved that teams like the Rangers, Red Sox, and Cubs were spending millions of dollars on players that were drafted and developed by other teams... Very few teams develope players and keep them like the Yankees do... Jeter, Bernie, Mo, Posada, Pettitte, Soriano (though they found him in Japan)... How many players like this can the Rangers or Red Sox say they have... The Red Sox attempted to corner the FA market this past offseason, and couldnt, not because the Yankees had more money, but because most of the players wanted to play for NY... THEY WANT TO WIN.... the reason the Yankees payroll is so high, is because they pay their younger players money early, like Jeter, Bernie, and guys like that... Giambi is only making about $14mil, while Jeter makes $16 mil next season... That whole payroll arguement in BS... The Royals, Padres, and Expos have always had the money, but they just prove to everyone, they dont want to spend it...

Outside of the A's and Astros, I dont think there is anyone who has better scouting abilities than the Yankees. Do you know who the first team to draft Mark Prior was? The Yankees, but he didnt sign because he wanted to finish school. Do you know who on in the starting lineup for the Red Sox in game 7, was actually drafted, and developed by the Red Sox organization? NONE... they were all FA's, or trades from guys they didnt need because of FA signing they made....

People are jealous of the Yankees because they dont like Dynasties. Well, tough, The Yankees were a Dynasty when money didnt matter... FA ruined the game, and the Yankees didnt bother trading away the guys they knew would be stars. They went out and got Giambi when they realized Tino wasn't the same anymore... Giambi wanted to play for the Yankees, just as much as the Yankees wanted him, it wasnt about the money, because the A's offered him more money, but didnt want to give him the no trade clause, so he said the hell with yous, I'm going to live my dream, and play for the NY Yankees... Don't hate the hater

Almost all of the Yankees starting squad came up through the organization:
C - Posada
1B - N. Johnson
2B - Soriano
SS - Jeter
CF - B. Williams
RF - J. Rivera (ok, he's not that good yet)
SP - Pettite
Cl - Rivera

Mostly what they buy are pitchers. The only regular position players they bought for this season is 1B Giambi, 3B Boone, LF Matsui, and I hardly doubt the other teams couldn't match the salaries for those guys, except maybe Giambi. They signed with the Yankees because they are a winning organization

Thanks for the back up Nuke... but the Yankees gave up a top pitching prospect for Boonie... Brandon Claussen, which even with Boones heroics in Game 7, I still think was a mistake.. But oh well, its the price you pay for winning
