Cato question...

I've run into a problem w/ Cato's History utility, wondering if anyone might have a answer/suggestion:

I've used this for 14 seasons & haven't had a problem. Then, w/ the most recent year, i ran into a problem. While importing the stats, after it asks for the start/end dates & after you can edit the teams, it runs for a while & then i get this error message:

Data provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status.

As far as i know, i've done nothing different with this season as the last 14, so i'm really not sure what i did wrong. I've re-done it several times & receive the same error message every time.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not really sure what the problem is, but I ran into earlier in my current dynasty. I opened the program back up and checked on the 'import all-stars' page to see if the game had advanced a season. It had, so I just kept on going, and never ran into any more problems.

I was able to import the all-stars & award winners also, so i tried to just create the HTML pages & ran into this error:

Error 55: File already open has occurred.

I'm stumped.

Try closing the OOTPHistory program, as well as any of the other files you may be using, and re-open the program.

That seemed to work for me when I got that error.

Im getting this error now as well.

It ALWAYS happens when it gets to the "Getting Player Histories" it gets about half way done, then dies.

Ive tried all the above to get it to work, but nothing has.

I was just wondering if anyone knows where exactly it DOES get Player Histories from. Then perhaps I could go in and edit a file or, you know, whatever.

I dearly love this program and can't get into OOTP as much without it, but it's so infuriating. even though a) it's free so I can't complain about anything and b) up to this point all my other problems have been fixible.

anyways. if anyone has any idea where I can find these Player Histories, that would be great. thanks.

And, when I try to create the webpages, the Error 55 occurs right when it starts trying to process player webpages, right at the very first "A", then it comes up with that error.

Im thinking I should play 1904 over again, sinced Ive backed-up all the years.

oh. i get it now. once I get the Error 55 messages, CLOSE OOTPHistory, then open it again. And NOW the player pages are processing properly... I hope.

After 8 seasons, this just started happening to me. No apparent reason and there does not appear to be anything wrong with the player history files.

Anyone have any ideas?

Does the "Data Provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status" ring a bell with anyone? My assumption is that a file open or file read failed. I just can't figure out where or why, but it does happen in the same spot when I restore the database and reimport the data.

Anyone solve this yet? I'm getting the combination of the E_Fail when it's getting histories, and the Error 55 when it go to create the player pages.
