The "Rate My Fantasy Football Team" thread

For all those FF players out there, this is the place for your thoughts on other's fantasy teams along with getting opinions on yours.

Well, here's mine :
It's a 14 team money league.

Team Name : LTs Crackbabies

QB: Donovan McNabb, Joey Harrington
RB : Duce Staley, Curtis Martin, James Stewart, Amos Zereoue
WR : Isaac Bruce, Mushin Muhammad, David Patten, Andre Johnson, Deion Branch, Josh Reed
TE : Jay Reimersma
K : David Akers
DEF : Steelers, Broncos

I think I need a serious upgrade in WR.

Solid team.

You are deep at RB, but none really stand out to get you points week in and week out. WR are ok, like you said you could use an upgrade. You are of course very strong at QB What pick did you have and who was your 2nd rounder?

Looks like a solid contender! I agree with Woody about the RB's - a solid bunch. WR's can be a crap shoot so who knows who might pan out in that group but you certainly seem to have a decent team for a 14 team league.

Your team could be pretty good, marioh. Depends on what your runningbacks can do. I wonder if Staley's holdout will cramp him a bit.

I have two teams in two different leagues.

Yahoo league 1: (includes some defensive player slots and WR/RB/TE multi slots)

(10 member league)

Darkhorse Candidates

QB: Donavan McNabb, Tom Brady
RB: Fred Taylor, Stephen Davis, Charlie Garner, Garrison Hearst, Onterrio Smith
WR: Keyshawn Johnson, Chad Johnson (sleeper from cincy), Curtin Conway, Joey Galloway
K: Morton Andersen
Def: Pittsburgh, New England
D: Dwight Freeney (DL- Ind)
DB: Dre Bly (DB - Det)
DL: Simeon Rice (DL- TB)

I missed out on getting Philly or Miami as Def because they were selected the two picks right ahead of me. Bleh. So close.

I think I'm a little weak in WR but overall I'm pretty pleased.

Yahoo league 2: (standard format)

(20 member league)

Kezzeks Krew

QB: Aaron Brooks, Vinnie Testaverde (just picked him up)
WR: Chad Johnson, Javon Walker, Quincy Morgan, Johnnie Morton
RB: Shaun Alexander, Eddie George, Lamont Jordan
TE: Todd Heap, Itula Mili
K: Jeff Wilkins
Def: New Orleans, Detroit (ha!)

This is a big league so nobody has any great depth at any position. I am very weak at WR here. But pretty strong at RB considering the size of the league. QB is debateable. No depth at Def.

This one could go either way.

It was an automatic Yahoo draft where you setup your draft card.
I just looked at the draft results. I'm not sure when I drafted, but I believe I was 4th in the draft. 1st pick is the obvious. 2nd rounder kind of surprised me as I drafted Isaac Bruce in the 2nd followed by Curtis Martin in the 3rd round.

Jay Reimersma and Andre Johnson were waiver wire pickups, from a very thin waiver wire (14 team leagues will do that).

I kind of like my chances in this league, especially after looking over some of my competitors teams. I put alot of work into the draft card for automatic drafts, so I usually end up making out fairly well in those types of drafts.

Here is my only team: It is a 14 team league and we used a life draft. I had the 7th pick.

Number in () is the amount of people that start at each position.

QB(1): Drew Beldsoe, Tommy Maddox
RB(2): Marshall Faulk, Emmitt Smith, Tyrone Wheatley, Najeh Davenport
WR(3): Eric Moulds, Joe Horn, Travis Taylor, Peter Warrick, Reggie Wayne, David Patten
TE(1): Byron Chamberlain
K(1): Joe Nedney
There is also one spot for WR/RB.

DL(4): Ray Lewis, Keith Bullock, Keith Brooking, Sam Cowart, Donnie Edwards, Chris Claiborne, Jay Foreman
DB(3): Lance Schulters, Ed Reed, Deon Grant, Mike Green
There is also one spot for DL/DB

The league is gonna be a tough one I think. Just ask Rolen or EegleEye

Your Darkhorse Candidates team looks a contender. You have a solid backup QB, WR corps could end up surprising you, especially if Galloway stays healthy (he finally put up decent numbers last year for the first time since leaving Seattle). You should scour the waiver wire and see if you can add a receiver for some depth. Charlie Garner may be in line for a career year this year. He almost got 1000,1000 last year, and if the Raiders try to establish a ground game this year, he could end up being your top RB.
Kezzeks Crew....not bad for a 20 team league. I don't even want to imagine what that waiver wire looks like. I'm not 100% sold on Brooks yet, and I believe that as good or bad as he is this year, will determine how far you go with that team. Try to dump Eddie George to some unsuspecting person in that league for a quality WR or another RB. I personally think he's done.

I hope like hell that all of the defensive players I have will pull me through.

I drafted 5 defensive players before anyone drafted any and before I picked a RB. My list was a 'let's see what happens' kind of list.

I like this team, but with some reservations. I'm not sold on your RB's beyond Faulk. You have 2, very good WR's in Moulds and Horn. And Ray Lewis is just flat out awesome. I had him in a league a couple of years back, and he was putting up better numbers per game than some of my offensive starters. Not a bad lineup though, considering it's a 14 team league and you had the 7th pick in the draft.

Qb's are top notch, WR's are very nice, TE is solid. I do not like Curtis Martin at all with Vinny Testaverde running the show in NY. You might try and package Martin and someone like Josh Reed or maybe even Bruce or Toomer for a better RB.

Overall though, a very good team.

Excellent WR, RB and QB's. A contender for sure. Only real question is your #3 RB, but I think Smith could have a nice season.

Im not crazy about your RB's for where you probably took them. I have avoided Taylor during all of my seasons of fantasy football. That said, they have a ton of potential. Bruce and Boston are solid, but Boston has stated how he will be taking some plays off in San Diego due to his size and him not being in top shape endurance wise. Nothing wrong with Mcnabb, hes the #2 QB on my board.

Overall, it is the success of Taylor and Holmes which will decide your success. If they are healthy and playing to their potential then you have definite shot at a championship.

No, I think Onterrio Smith will outplay Moe Williams and Hearst will be sharing time with Barlow. Now, Barlow is hurt and wont play in this weeks preseason game, so if he doesnt play week one then Hearst might be a better start in week one. Long term though, Martin is still better than those guys.

I don't care about winning the championship all I care about is finish ahead of you. Anywhere in the top 10 ought to do that
