I keep losing my Cato database!

Okay, I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid, but someone please hit me upside my head and explain this to me. I output the league html files from ootp5 into a folder. I run the Cato utility, create the database and save it in the same folder as the html output. I then generate the website, and everything works great. I backup the database just to be safe (you'll see why). I sim another season, generate the html, and go to open up Cato, but the database is gone! Backup is gone too! not even in my recycle bin. What am I doing wrong? I've spent 2 nights now restoring leagues to try to get this stupid thing to work.

I think I saw it running down the street. I'll try to grab it, but I can't promise anything.

Sandstorm: yup...the entire "website" directory is still there. It's a sub-folder of the directory where the database should be...just no database.

Weiner: I appreciate the effort. Maybe if you get all the Lil' smokies to help ya, you can round it up for me. Thanks!

Leave $10,000 in small unmarked bills in a tan briefcase behind the 7-11 and I'll tell you how to ensure its safe return.

Have you tried to search your computer for the file(s)? Perhaps they are being saved to a different folder.

Do a file find search (hit F3 while viewing a folder and search your hard drive(s)) for *.mdb and see if anything comes up.

Turns out that the OOTP5 html generator clears out the target directory. Silly. So, I just created my mdb in a different directory than where my html gets generated to. simple fix. Thanks for all the help. Your suggestions got me thinking more and I think I've fixed it for now!

Ahh you had your *.mdb and backup inside the "leaguesite" folder? Yeah whenever you generate html files inside the game it deletes everything from that folder, I always just saved the DB file to the history folder since you usually spend alot of time going to and from that folder.

Somehow, the "sheep" has become the "yak" now.
