Basic question about using real rosters?

Ok, I've had some success with real rosters and OOTP5 but there are a few things I'm trying to do that I can't quite seem to get right. If someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

One, I want to start with the 2002 season and play out from there. I managed to load in the 2002 roster sets from the lahman database but I was only able to sim 2002. I couldn't go on to the next seasons with the draft pool being created by fictional players. Anyway I can get this done? And is there any way of fixing the contracts in the Lahman db? Or using a different roster set?

I also would like to take a roster set (any year from 1998-2002) and start a fictional league with a draft of the real players. I took a Rolen roster set and used that to replace the Create folder but once I got to the draft none of the players had names or correct info (I was able to sign coaches and scouts, however). Any advice on how to get this done?

I've gone through searches and the faqs and found a lot of useful info but nothing on how to accomplish these two tasks. My apologies if I just missed something obvious.

Regardless of those problems, the game is a blast and once I get a handle on it I look forward to trying an online league.

Thanks
Vince Pickett

I think for the Rolen roster set you need to import it through the "import ootp4 league" option since it's a roster file for oop4. And i have no idea for your other Q.

Go into League Setup, see where it says League Options? Set this to Career and not Replay. And no, using the Lahman DB there is no way to fix the contracts unless you want to manually do it player by player as far as I know.

Start up any league from any of those years, and go to Advanced League Setup, then Reset-Release All-Fantasy Draft. Then go to the Basic Setup and Edit League Structure in the bottom left. Delete any teams you don't want and re-organize the league how you like it. Then go into each team's individual Team Setup page and rename them to whatever you want, then start the draft.

I think that should answer those questions.
