I have Alfonzo Soriano and Derek Jeter on my roster. Who would you bat at leadoff? I also have Andruw Jones and Jason Gaimbi. My lineup was going to be 1.)Jeter 2.)Soriano 3.)Jones 4.)Giambi
What do you think?

Post their ratings and we'll give you our views. Names mean nothing in OOTP.

In addition, this isn't really an Online Leagues topic, it probably would get more useful replies in the OOTP 5 Comments & Feedback forum.

They are both Yankees, trade them, and then get a team that is NOT evil incarnate...

Derek Jeter... http://www.s3bl.ootp-leagues.com/league/p1155.html
Alfonso Soriano... http://www.s3bl.ootp-leagues.com/league/p1156.html I figured it was a question from my online league, so might as well post it in the Online league section. I also posted at Dynasty Report, but that also seems like the wrong forum as well. My bad..

It wasn't completely off-topic, just figured it'd get more looks in the main forum.
Personally, depending on the players' ratings, I'd figure out which one of them had a better Hits + Walks rating, then bat them first. Hits & Walks mean they'll get on base more. EDIT: Based on the links to the player pages you posted, I'd definitely go with Jeter in leadoff; he gets on base a lot more. |

Based on those ratings I concur with AJ. Jeter will get on base, can steal, and can bunt for a hit. Soriano's pop is better utilised behind Jeter.

I would say that using Soriano as a #2 is a bad idea he doens't look at a lot of pitches. A #2 should be a guy that walks more then 22 times as Soriano has, this gives your leadoff the ability to steal bases. Soriano probably fits better as a #3 because of his contact ability. Then I would put Jones and Giambi 4 and 5 depending on which hits Righties and Lefties Better and find someone that can hit .280 but walks a decent amount to be your #2.

Dead right, I was merely answering the question from the point of view of whether Jeter or Soriano would be the better leadoff. I'd also want a someone who could get on base at #2, so I'd prefer a Soriano rated like this at 3, 4 or 5 rather than 2.

First thing you have to do before deciding is separate OOTP from MLB. Soriano definately shouldn't leadoff for you. He has a very low OBP.

Ah, the infamous "tusso". I couldn't find the commissioner anywhere so I'm hoping it is the Pittsburgh owner, but if not, does it matter who leads off?
