Import real rookies

Hi all, I dont think this is in the FAQ section so im posting here. If it is just tell me to look harder

!

Anyways, I created a histroic career league starting in year 1998. Everything goes fine until the Ammy draft. It asks me if I'd like to import real rookies. I say yes, but only 4 player get loaded into the ammy draft. Meaning 26 other teams don't get a pick in the 1st round.

Anyone know this problem? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you changed some of the team abbrev. or league abbrev. or moved some teams around, is that the case?

im quite sure all I changed were finances, award names. MAbey I should use a different roster set?

Oh wait, were you wanting players to go on "original teams" or into a draft?

nope I wanted players into a draft. So all players that were drafed in 1998 could be drafted in any other order...

The game gives two options when "real rookies" are imported:

-original teams
-draft

Sounds like you selected the wrong one. I don't play "historical" leagues so not certain of the exact prompts but somehow you made the wrong choice.

I think Steve is right on. I've been doing player imports for a while and never had a problem, and have even done the year you suggested. If you do change the team abreviations and then import it does not work if you send players to their team, but it should place them all in a pool. Not sure what else to tell you.

Hey all,

first off thanks for the help so far but still no luck.

Here is what ive done:

-began historical league, my path to db is c:\stat . I import league and all players are loaded in correctly.
-I change 3 options in league setup : coaches off, minors off and instead of replay league, I set to career.
-I sim the whole year just to see if I can fix the problem.
-I proceed to next season and eventually it asks if I would like to import real rookies. I answer yes. It then asks me if they should be placed on original teams. I say no. After this happens, only 4 rookies are brought in : Jacque Jones, Jorge Toca, Freddy Garcia and Daniel Wheeler.

some problems I was thinking of :
-could it have anything to do with my create directory?
-am I missing a file in lahmans db that has rookies?

Anyways thanks again for the help, if anyone has ANY ideas please reply

My first guess would be something is wrong with the DB since I don't recall hearing of this issue before and many folks are playing this type of league. Try d/l and installing the db again and see what happens. Make sure the DB is the 'comma delimited" version.
