Question Rocco's Rosters & Coors Field?

Anyone using this roster set seeing too many homers hit in Colorado? I just finished a 3 game set and between both teams (St. Louis and Colorado), there was a total of 19 hrs? In one game there was 8 hit.

Just a fluke or is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks,

Todd

I haven't seen it, but maybe try lowering the ballpark factors if this occurs too often.

Every solo league I make I'm always tempted to fiddle around with Coors field park factors....

Everytime they get a legitimate elite hitter...and if he can stay on the team long enough, I know he will be the career leader in HR and RBI's....usually....its probably realistic...but it drives me nuts.

Yeah, me too. I remember one time when they traded for Barry Bonds, and he was already hitting 65 homers a year. His first year in Colorado, he hit like 80 some homers. Maybe that's realistic, but like you say, it drives me nuts. I get sick of guys hitting 60 a year, so I hate it even more when I see guys hitting 80 a year.

In my OOTP 4 league...the Rockies traded away the 2005 ROY for the 2004 ROY...the difference being that one guy was a rated a good in HR (8 or9) while the the other was Brilliant (12 overall and 13 vs R). He went on a immediate power surge averageing 74 HR's for the next 7 or 8 years...eventually destroying Hank Aaron's HR mark by 150 or so.

I would recommend lowering the park factors. They came right from stats inc.

As for Bonds, he did hit 73 HR's in a park that has a vs LHP HR factor of 50, by far the lowest in baseball, imagine what would happen if he did play in coors.

I actually like the Coors Field effect he has set. Played with the Indians at Coors last night, and it turned out ver similar to what happened in real life. In real life, the Indians came into Coors on a role and just got smoked by all that offense. Cleveland is trying to play the pitching/fielding game this year and can't go toe-to-toe offensively in Coors field. Same thing happened last night to me, except I did manage to win one game 15-8. Then I got beat 11-6 and 7-1. Even though I was getting smoked the games were a lot of fun to play.

I think Coors Field as a whole has too much impact on homeruns. Even in my fictional league, as soon as Colorado gets a batter with anything 10 or higher in HR, he leads the league all the time. Not to mention, he wins MVP awards all the time because of the RBI's associated with all the homers.

I personally have lowered the homerun settings for Coors in my league because I like to have atleast SOME semblance to real life, and in real life, I believe Larry Walker has come the closest to leading the league in HR at 49, but no other Rockie has ever came close to the likes of Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, etc.

Thanks for the replies, I'll wait until the all-star break and see what happens. I've never had a Rockies player lead the league in Hr's, so if Helton or Walker is still behind players like Bonds, I'll be happy.

It's just kind of odd that overall they have the most hr's and the worst pitching staff.

Thanks for the feedback.

For those of you who are using this set, how are your numbers turning out?

it happens in real life..........coors is ungodly on pitchers. If you dont like it, just lower the park factors.
