Is there a way to permanently switch "Import real rookies?" to No?

I've set up a fictional league that I want to sim for 100 years, and then I'll take over a team in this league with a rich history. I've started the year at 1901. Unfortunately, I'm finding simming the century is slow going, because during EVERY off-season, it asks me if I want to import real rookies, which I don't want to do anyway.

Is there a way to get it to stop asking me this for this league? I'd like to leave it simming while I'm at work or sleeping to get to the target date. Alas, after the first season I leave it alone, it gets stuck on the real rookies question.

Any help? I couldn't find a toggle to this anywhere in the league set-up options. I also don't wanna start a new league in the "future," because I've spent a lot of time setting up this league, and because there's something cool about seeing records from 1927 on the books.

Thanks, folks!

Darn! Oh well, back to reading "Sandy Koufax - A Lefty's Legacy" at my PC and pressing "No" every 20 minutes or so.

It is a pain, though. It'd be cool if a feature could be added that, when you set up a historical sim, you could put a default setting for the duration of the sim, so you can sim multiple seasons while you sleep.

I would think that it would be a failry easy thing to address, though.

Not just historical, but fictional, too. I want to start a fictional league in 1903 and sim 100 years, then pick up a team in a well-seasoned league with real records, but that one little thing keeps me from doing it.

Exactly! Ah well, I might just start GMing my team early, if I gotta sit through it anyway.

Along the same lines, it would be nice if once we chose a path to the rookies (ie c:\stats) it would remember that, too.

Along these same lines, if you do want to use real rookies, and one time in that 100 years you accidently hit no for "real rookies" your whole league is screwed. There REALLY needs to be a setting just to avoid these mistakes.

An "Are you sure?" box would help, but that would just make the problem you guys are talking about worse. (You would have to click twice every 20 minutes).

If the dates do not bother you, start your fictional league in 2003 or later... then sim all you want. Since it is past the date of the current database version, it will not ask if you wanna import rookies.

Why not have the option to select real rookies or fictional ones not be exclusive? That way you could import the odd real rookie class from interesting past seasons without screwing up your association, and continue on with fictional rookies until you opted to repeat the process again. The obverse would apply as well, and perhaps the model could operate along the lines of the "sim until xth inning" option: do not import real rookies (or the opposite, your choice) until year xxxx.

Yeah, I know. But dates do bother me, at least a little ...

I also wish there was a perpetual calendar in the game, so when my custom schedule was templated on the year, I wouldn't be playing Apr 1 on Monday every year. The game would just slap the schedule onto the year beginning on the first Monday of April, whatever that date might be.
