Setting up your own Allstar Game...

Credit for the following goes completly to Tresclub (Warren) who posted his experience elsewhere on the board. Since there have been so many questions on how to bypass the games AllStar choices, I turned his narrative into a 7 step list.

Have fun and Thanks Warren !!
  • 1. Copy the league in it’s entirety to a different folder
    2. Create a NATL Team in the National League, and an AMER Team in the American League (or something similar in your league)
    3. Go through the rosters, releasing all the Allstar players
    4. Go into Edit Free Agents, and sign them to their respective Allstar Team
    5. Auto-generate lineups and pitching rotations, or set them up yourself
    6. Remember that in ASG tradition, the starting pitchers can only go three innings, and play everyone you can.

When your done, restore the copy of your league.

I take it that this only is to sim your personalized AS game and would not somehow create a record of YOUR all-stars in your "real" copy of your league?

Not sure I followed that question (been a long day LOL) but the purpose would be to pick and choose your own representatives. The game would not accumulate anything in the original game (Almanc or otherwise) so the boxscore you would print would be your only record.

You have to balance recordkeeping against the ability to choose your own players.

But now with PLG's newest utility we can select the allstar game players in the original league file right?

That's the assumption, although it's not out yet, and things have a way of bringing on new problems
