7-inning 3-hitter makes the news

I noticed an odd news story in one of my leagues. It reported a three-hitter thrown by a pitcher. This in of itself was not strange. What was strange was that, in the article, it listed the game as being the pitcher's 0th shut out of the season. I checked the pitcher's stats, and it showed he had no shut outs pitched. I checked his game-by-game log and, sure enough, he only pitched seven innings that game!

I've not seen this, but I don't look at every news story. I'd say it is just quirk I'll try to watch for this.
