Two 5 star relievers....
Assuming you put one at closer, where do you use the other? I'm finding it a tough decision to use him as MR #1, or setup #1 considering the number of innings the middle guy seems to get. I guess it depends on how deep the SP's are expected to go....what's your thinking?

Depends if you play your games out or sim.
If you play out, then it really doesn't matter, because you're the one that puts them into the ballgames. But if you sim it out, you'll get the most IP out of him in MR. I've found that typically they pitch the MR 2 innings (all my MR seem to have stats similar to 120 IP in 70 games), so if you figure your closer comes in in the 9th, that means your starter just has to go 6 innings and your MR goes 2 more, leaving no time for your set up guy.

I still stick these types of guys in my setup role. I just figure that even though he may not get as many innings as the MR, the innings he does pitch are usually more critical.

A big factor is duration. A great reliever with an A duration is still MR #1 if you have a bunch of C duration or lower relievers.
Duration is THE key. |

If he happens to be injury prone, put him in the setup role - that way pitch less innings.

My online league bullpen consists of a 4 star closer and 2 4.5 star MR's. Obviously, the closer is closing, but 1 MR has an A duration, while the other is a C. I use my A duration MR as MR 1 and Setup 2, while my C duration guy is my Setup 1. As far as innings pitched goes, A duration MR appeard in 75 games going 92.1 innings, while the C duration guy went 69.2 innings in 53 games.
Feel free to check out their stats following the link in my sig
