Ridiculous number of Pitcher errors E1

I don't know if anyone else has noticed/dealt with this, but I just started playing OOTP 27, single pitch mode, and 7 games in I already have 6 errors on the pitcher (different pitchers, 2026 Mariners, live start mode from the All-Star break). Four have been on pickoffs (and I haven't called a lot of them--only a couple per game) and two on 3-1 putouts.

Is this a glitch or just bad luck?

I manage each game at-bat by at-bat and have not seen one E1 yet, that I can remember. (edit): I have completed two full seasons

Perhaps just bad, random, luck
