Player Ratings Fall Off Cliff After Importing '25 League to '27
I imported a 25 league to 27 (with the intermediate 26 step). It was mid-season in the league. Everything was fine for the rest of the season in 27. When the offseason came, all the player ratings on my team plummeted, and the salaries with them. Salaries are about 1/3 what they were previously, and my ace is now more like an SP4.
Except, of course, all the contracts stayed the same. So now I'm paying one pitcher $66,000 (which was a bargain to lock him up for a while) and he has the same reduced ratings as a guy who was not under contract and got $9,000 in arbitration because of his reduced ratings. Obviously everyone was re-scouted for some reason. Is there anything I can do? If I fire my scout and just go back to OSA, will that restore the ratings? Thanks for any ideas you have. |

Use the in game editor and check the actual ratings. See how they changed if at all.
The Overall and Potential ratings are based on a formula that changes every year. They are also based on the talent pool of the league, they can be very subjective and should only be used as a guide. Also be aware there was a small internal ratings change from 600 cap to 650. |

Thanks. I think it's more than just year over year changes. It is something structural in a setting that I cannot revert.
Vinegar Bend Mizell had a stuff potential of 72 both before and after the import. He won the best pitcher award in his minor league. He's 19 and uninjured. Immediately after the Offseason, his stuff potential is 50. Almost no pitcher has any Control rating over 45, and most are in the 30s. It seems to primarily be a pitching issue, but I would say across the board, every pitcher lost 1/3 of his ratings in all categories. A strong pitcher who had a good MLB season making $40,000 in the prior season (both in the 25 pre-import and 27 post-import scenarios) got $11,000 in arbitration. He is 26 years old. I think my only solution is to keep playing this league in '25 and only use '27 for new leagues. In some ways that's ok, because I'm not a fan of the graphic layout in '27 anyway. (Bad news: I won the World Series 4-0 in OOTP 27 before the ratings madness happened. When I went back to OOTP 25 and finished up the season, I made the World Series but lost 4-3. Oh well). Thanks for the reply. |

What is your scouting accuracy? Also, if everyone's ratings are all lower by the same degree, more or less, then it should even out.
