Players Retiring
I started a historical game in the year 1946.
I have players major league players retiring then un-retiring on their own and coming back years later with high 70s's or 80's ratings across the board. And the players are all over 40 year olds. Some are 49 years old. I believe this may be a bug. |

More information would help. Type of game (mode). Any settings changed from default. A few player names, specific examples, etc. There is insufficient information here for someone to try and replicate or understand what might be happening.

I told you about that in OOTP25 or 26. Retired players unretired the following year in january playing with real transaction / lineup. No idea what change cause that, I thought it could be the real transaction file since retired players weren't often retired but they were still hoping in the minor league system. On the other hand, and I think it make more sense, the minor league database is probably the reason of this even if I play without minor leagues.

I am not playing with real transactions and lineups and I never have. I thought by now they might have fixed this problem.
Here is an example: Spud Chandler retired in my game in 1951 at the age of 43. Then in 1956 he somehow un-retires at the age of 48 and his stats are basically all 80's. He literally just becomes the best picture in the game. I believe this is caused by the real minor league system, which I do have activated. Last edited by Pirates; 04-22-2026 at 06:16 PM. |

Are Retire According to History and Miss Seasons According to History enabled? He pitched in 1955 for two games. I looked up the box scores in old papers a few minutes ago and updated his stats. I also deleted the bogus 1954 stats. So, if those two boxes are checked - he should unretire. The problem is that he should not be elite.
