Managing Rosters During Season Mode

Do you guys pull elite cards having down seasons? I just won the world series in iron so I got promoted to low bronze and for whatever reason satchel paige 94 card is getting shelled. The season before he was unhittable. Do you just leave the best cards in there and hope for the best or will you mix it up even if you don't necessarily have an equal quality card to sub?

I have levels that if a player is performing below that mark, I'll replace him, for instance I have a perfect Frank Thomas that was not hitting - sending him out for 2 weeks to look at other cards, especially since he is so positionally limited, I can look at other stuff that might be better in the meantime.

It's variance. Ratings are more representative future performance than past performance is. It's all tin foil hat theories that players perform worse when put in.
