salary cap and too many players

I signed the contract for a team, and after signing a few of my draft picks, I got the message that I have too many projected players. Then, when I released a player, I was told that I was under the salary cap. The reason I didn't select a team at the start was to keep the team within the salary cap, not way out of whack. It said on the bottom that my team's salary was about 2 million, and the salary floor was 44 million.

What league? From the infos it seems you are 42 millions below the salary floor but it sounds strange. Maybe also post a screenshot from the roster screen.

I guess you can click the commissioner mode box in manager options and via edit give some of your players a higher cap?
