Liga del Caribe - 16 fictional historical teams
Arising at some point in the first half of the 20th century, here is my project. The idea is that the larger/more successful teams from the precursor leagues joined together to form a pan-Caribbean league. The league logo has evolved from my PR-RD League logo (two diamonds) to have a third diamond for Venezuela/ South America.
Most of them have future logos and some change identities. The following would be the "vintage" logos/names/identities. How you can arrange this league/ use these teams: You just want four expansion teams? Havana, Santo Domingo, San Juan, and Caracas Have 8 AL teams and 8 NL teams and want to add an 8 team CL (and say 8 Pacific League teams)? You could go with Havana, Camaguey, SDC, Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, San Juan, Ponce, and Panama or Caracas in a historical game Want a 12 team major league to replace the Japanese [League Redacted]? I would do Havana, Camaguey, SDC, Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, San Juan, Panama, Caracas, Zulia, Barranquilla and two of San Pedro de Macoris, Ponce or Valencia. For me Willemstad, Cartagena and Managua are pretty clearly last on the list/expansion teams. They divide into eight North/Island Division teams and eight South/continental Division teams, from left to right: Havana, Camaguey, SDC, Santiago de los Caballeros, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macoris, Ponce, San Juan Managua, Panama, Cartagena, Barranquilla, Zulia, Willemstad, Valencia, Caracas team logos to follow, and some even have uniforms I'd like to thank tehsugi for taking an early look at this project, and giving me some advice. It's also inspired by his Japanese league as well as lbl_brendan's and tm1681's incredible work. hate that I have to say this but no ai was used in this or any of my projects Last edited by 20_range; 04-16-2026 at 08:23 PM. |

Habana Nacionales
Market size: Large
Alternate name: Rojos I drew the column H, based on the motto "city of columns". I wanted to make a logo/concept that could work pre- or post- revolution (I'm not sure which historical events happen in these timelines. Hopefully the US is less bloodthirsty in this world) Large logo is based on Espanyol. Tried to stay simple/grounded in this project so a lot of the logos are based on real ones. I think I made that top column first and then I made an H-column. the seams on the baseball are derived from the larger column. |

Santo Domingo Estrellas
market size: big
based on: NY Yankees x Boca Juniors. I think they add a star to their logo with every championship; I've uploaded the main logo with the star in the negative space of the s, but there are also a couple versions with a baseball there and more stars indicating titles. rivalries with: Santiago de los Caballeros, and the other three big market teams I made this SD monogram starting with the Labor Union font. Santo Domingo Estrellas bonus
I think that when I play this league I will actually go back and make them a new logo each time they win a title. This concept is based on Boca Juniors and the Puerto Rican baseball team Criollos de Caguas, both of whom incorporate each new championship into their logo.

San Pedro de Macoris Porvenir
market size: small
rebrands to: Poetas Porvenir is Spanish for the future, and is also the name of a sugar production company and neighborhood in San Pedro de Macoris. My version of the many historical and modern teams named after local businesses/ corporations. I've tried for years to make something good enough for this legendary baseball city. I hope I've done it twice with this one and the more modern (Mexico M style) monogram! (many of the small logos are invisible on this board, but they are there) |

San Juan Coquis
Market size: large
Descended from a request someone made in my request thread. Originally based on the NY/SF Giants script over a baseball logo. It snowed a lot this winter and my child who is almost 4 missed a lot of preschool. There was one point where we watched My Neighbor Totoro ten days in a row. Not hyberbole, we counted them. This frog is based on the frog from the opening credits of Totoro! |

Caracas Sabios
market size: big
named for a real team. Just really liked the name, "the wise" or "wise men". Plus, it meant I got to draw an owl. It also worked for me because the real life Caracas Leones played in a stadium in the University City of Caracas. Rebrands to: Estudiantes motto is from the motto of the city: Motto: Seguid El Ejemplo Que Caracas Dio. (Then Follow the Example that Caracas Gave.) A sports team with the motto "follow the example" just seemed so metal Last edited by 20_range; 04-16-2026 at 08:55 PM. |

Valencia Gigantes
market size: small
monogram based on: Chicago American Giants I made this G based on the Chicago American Giants. The V was much easier to make. I also went back and made a serif version. This team is actually named after the giant anteater and there will be an anteater in the forthcoming modern logo

Zulia Rayos
market size: medium
nickname: al Faro main rivalry: Caracas Z logo based on the original Washington Senators/ Nationals. An attempt to do something simple. Added the shadow (not quite like theirs) and the small bolt in the Z. Added a second lightning bolt as well. Still not sure about this team. I think they evolve from black/white/grey to black/white/mauve Still working on a "whimsical"/mid-century evolved version with a cloud. |

Barranquilla Moros
market size: medium
rivalry with: Cartagena logo based on: Navegantes patch what I wrote about them yesterday I'll just block quote it again Moros - my attempt to make a relatively non-pc historical identity. I figured an early baseball team might take on this identity in an "approving, tribute" well-meaning type way. They use Ottoman symbolism, and will be rebranded. basically based on Indios de Boer (see above) and the London rugby team Saracens, among others. Anyway don't worry I drew a vulture for their rebrand! Rebrands to: Goleros (a vulture) (a Carnival dance) Last edited by 20_range; 04-16-2026 at 09:14 PM. |
