Need help which pitcher to call up to The Show
Hi all- Thank you for your advice in advance!
I need to call one of these guys up to the Majors as my #5 pitcher. They're both in AAA currently but i need one to come up. About to start my 5th year as a Brewers GM. Ratings relative to MLB Pitcher A: Logan Henderson (Age 27) - OVR 50 - POT: 55 | 50 Stuff, 45 Movement, 50 Control Pitches -> FB 65, CHG 65, CUTTER 50 Stats in AAA ERA: 4.05 W/L: 7/12 IP: 186.2 K: 203 WHIP: 1.12 HR/9: 1.3 BB/9: 2.0 K/9: 9.8 BABIP: .291 ERA+ 102 WAR: 4.3 Pitcher B: Mike Rufin (Age 23) - OVR: 50 - POT: 80 | 50 Stuff, 55 Movement, 40 Control Pitches -> FB 65, CRV 60, SLIDER 50, SINKER 35, CHG 35 Stats in AAA: ERA: 3.39 Win/Loss: 2/7 IP: 74.1 K: 72 WHIP: 1.41 HR/9: 0.8 BB/9: 4.5 K/9: 8.7 BABIP: .299 ERA+: 122 WAR: 1.3 Technically they both COULD play in the Majors. They'd both will lose games. But they both could do ok. I'm leaning towards Logan Henderson so I can let Mike develop more in AAA since he's 23 and has an 80 Potential, but what do you guys think? I'd go with Henderson, mainly based on the control rating. Your instincts are also probably right about keeping the prospect down a little bit longer to develop.
