Upon starting the game, I'm met with a message asking me if I'd like to pre order the game. When I click "dismiss this message", or "close" it makes my screen go black and brings me to an alternative loading screen that is seemingly loading forever.
When I'm brought to that screen, I'm met with three baseball cards to the right of my screen and the rest is completely black. I have restarted my game, restarted my pc, and even verified game files in steam and I'm still unable to play and/or escape that never ending loading screen. Frankly, I'm really upset because not only did I spend $40 to not be able to play the game, but I've now spent the time trying to fix it myself, on top of making a forum account exclusively for this issue. Overall I am really disappointed. I hope its a simple issue that will make the $40 worth it, but i was REALLY excited to play and now I have no idea when i'll be able to play a game I already payed money for. |

I also get this issue.
One thing I would say is that the screen behind is active and I can click on the black page in the correct place to load my last save. I can also, in windowed mode, click to close the window which will make a pop up appear and illuminated the background showing where all the buttons are. It's dreadful but allows me to get passed the homepage and onto the actual game. |

Hello, first can I ask what system you are on and what version? (Mac/Windows, Steam/standalone, computer version).
Also, if you are able could you please try some of the following launch options? To run the launch options on steam, click the gear icon > Properties > General > then in the launch options section first try inputting noentry3d If that doesn't work, please try opengl_mode=2 For the standalone on PC find the ootp27.exe, then right click and Create Shortcut. Now in the shortcut, in the Target: field at the end you can add a space and then each launch option (please try one at a time to see which if either help). And of course make sure you launch the app via the shortcut. For Mac standalone, I believe the way you add launch options is Open Terminal (via Spotlight or Applications/Utilities). Navigate to the app's executable file inside the .app bundle. Something like /Applications/ootp27.app/Contents/MacOS/ootp27 Run the app with arguments using this structure: ./Applications/ootp27.app/Contents/MacOS/ootp27 --your-argument and replace your_argument with noentry3d, and if that doesn't work try opengl_mode=2 Last edited by Will Beh; 03-16-2026 at 01:54 PM. |

Oh awesome, I'm glad that worked
![]() Do you mind if I ask you what system you're on (for example Windows 10, or Mac 26.3.2 Tahoe), as well as which of the two commands fixed it (noentry3d or opengl_mode=2)? That info would help a lot to diagnose the specific cause. Thanks! |
