How do I stop my players for trying to steal 3rd?

I have baserunning set to myself and not the AI, but players try to steal 3rd base and 9 out of 10 times get caught.

Is this a bug? Intentional? Is there any way to stop this?

I've never had that happen when I am in control of running. Are you sure you have the setting right?

Yep I started a new save and will test it again.

Nope it still happening. I started a save with the Brewers and Yelich tried to steal 3rd and i have baserunning set to me, not the AI. It didn't even ask me or anything.

The option to steal is under offense strategy, not baserunning. Do you have offense strategy set to you?

No that's set to my Manager. Ah I see now. I thought it was Baserunning that was the steal options.

Being just the GM of my team, i kinda wanted to let the AI control all the on the field stuff except for the substitutions so i can maintain control of the bullpen.

Problem is, that if i set offense strategy to the AI coaches, they'll steal 3rd and crazy stuff like that.

You're not at an disadvantage since the computer controlled teams are doing the same thing.

Steals are close to run neutral for most eras.

Computer managers steal at inappropriate times too, like late with 8 run leads. My theory is the computer doesn't select the "right" time to steal because 1) its close to run neutral, and 2) its easier to hit the goal of the league matching historic steal numbers with this method.
