Historical Database Issues Go Here

Hi all,

Please post any issues with the historical databases here. Players importing multiple times, not importing, crazy ratings, wrong stats or other stuff like this. LansdowneSt, Garlon, pstrickert and I will do our best to respond and to fix any issues.

Thanks for your help in making OOTP better!

Created a new historical game to check, and it looks like the 1935 San Francisco Seals are still wrongly affiliated with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
I did a big report on minor league affiliations that needed to be fixed in the historical database issues thread for OOTP26, looks like they still haven't been fixed.
Not a big deal, I may be the only one who cares about the 1935 Brooklyn Dodgers calling up Joe DiMaggio, BUT.

Could you link to that here or maybe send me a PM with it? I may've missed it when you originally posted. We could probably fix this up at some point without too much trouble.

Here's the post:

And here's the Google Doc I linked of the changes I thought needed to be made:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...o/edit?tab=t.0

Let me know if you can't access the Google Document, I may need to share it or something.

Good day, I was playing a historical league using historical transactions from 1960 to 1980 just to a view of the new version. I noticed that teams which moved to other cites were not moving, KC City Athletics did not move to Oakland in 1968 & Washington did not move to Texas. Also in 1969, divisions began in the AL and NL and it remained in one division for each league. It appears that there is an issue reading the teams file. Is anyone else having this issue? or am I missing an option?

The options should be on by default. It is found under League Settings>Historical, halfway down the left hand side as a toggle called "automatically expand league". Make sure that is on (toggled) and report back.

My bad. "Automatically Expand League" and Automatically Import Historical Rookies" have to manually toggled on.
I was used to OOTP26 where those options were toggled on by default. They had to be manually done in OOTP27.

Thanks for the quick response

Tried to create a 1998 historical game and got a message....

Could not create folder 'Auto-save"!
The auto-save function could not create the auto-save folder and will be disabled

This can happen if the game automatically installed to your One Drive folder but you lack One Drive space.

You'll want to reinstall and move the save location to a non-One Drive linked folder.

Not sure if this is the forum for something that i looked at or how important it is, but i did notice some inaccuracies when I did a complete re-sim of history from 1871 to the present. These are what I saw when I did that sim over since Tuesday:

1) There was a 2020 minor league system in the sim, but there probably shouldn't have been because of COVID.

2) There was no minor league season in 2021 (because of the fact that they are named Triple-A East, Triple-A West, etc.?) and for 2025.

From starting the base game from the start of 2026....

3) The Frederick Keys are listed in the South Atlantic League and the MLB Draft League. Frederick and the Aberdeen IronBirds swapped spots in the leagues.

4) Lancaster in the Atlantic League is listed as the Barnstormers. They changed their name to the Stormers a couple of years ago.

5) In the Frontier League, the unnamed conferences are the Atlantic and Midwest Conferences

6) Pioneer League has 14 teams in the game, but for this year, there's only 12. Rocky Mountain Vibes, Grand Junction Jackalopes and Northern Colorado Owlz are no more, and the RedPocket Mobiles are in the league as a road only team. Also, the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers are now the Firebirds.

I know these points are not front of the line issues, but issues I saw since Tuesday so far.

Thanks
Joe

1976 start at least Chattanooga and Boise are listed as having no affiliation and should be affiliated with Oakland

The 2020 season was put in the minors because without it every minor league player got released as the sim advanced from 2019 to 2020. It's no different than the game simming a full 1994. BUT, 2021 wasn't supposed to disappear!

I started a 1990 league and Oakland had no affiliated minor league teams. The teams were there, just unaffiliated.

The team's Historical Team ID and Historical Franchise ID are both "ATH".

Maybe this is a bug and not a database issue

I imported 1946, 1980 and 1990. 1946 looks like the teams affiliated properly. But for '80 and '90, the A's had no affiliated teams. Still there, but just with no affiliation.

Hopefully my multiple edits aren't adding to any confusion!

Interesting that 2021 does not appear when there was a season (leaving it as that). But there were no minor leagues in the new game for 2025.

We'll have to take a look at both 2021 and 2025, as there's likely some sort of bug in importing.

We'll also have to check into the A's affiliates. Again, pretty clearly some sort of odd import bug going on.

I imported a game from 26 (on a Mac, following the usual instructions), but I got an error saying it could not access the Historical Database.

I remember having this issue last year, but do not remember how to fix it.

I noticed while setting up a different league that come the 2nd year of the sim, the A's affiliates were all linked again to the team, after a season with no affiliations.

I did a quick test and noticed that during the first year (no affiliations) the 'Historical Team ID' was "ATH", upon the offseason being triggered, the 'Historical Team ID' updates to "OAK" and the appropriate minor league teams are linked again with the A's.

1981 draft, John Cangelosi has pitching experience which leads the CPU to ignore him on draft day despite him having back end 1st round potential ability. Requesting to have his pitching line removed for the next patch if possible so it will remove that manual task of having to delete it.

Thanks!
