Career Mode

I'm sorry, but I just don't think the game will be much fun without career mode, yeah it looks great, and yeah you can pit Roy Jones against Holyfield before it happens, and a million other senerios....but then what? As soon as you get bored of testing your creative fights imagination your done. The meat in any boxing game is finding the guy off the mean streets, training him and taking to the top to win a belt and maybe even be one of the greatest of all time. I mean I already know Ali is one of the greatest - what's the fun in putting him in the ring with Buster Douglas? If your going to put it in another game, why buy this one? Just like OOTPB this is where all the fun is. Maybe I'm alone here but I am desperately dissapointed that I have to wait for this to come out.

Sure I may "want" it now but I want it to be the best so I can wait.

You can still create your own fighters in the straight sim mode. I know many users who build an entire stable and match their fighters. They use their own system built around Performance Points to increase or decrease a fighter's abilities. But, I respect everyone's right to know what is best for them as an individual.

Like I said.... I can wait. I would rasther have the game done to its best abilities before the career mode is released. Like football, I have been waiting for the "end all" sim boxings forever. EAs Knockout Kings sure isnt the answer.....

Jim, maybe you guys can give us some info on the career mode every month...like a monthly update so to speak so that we can get some sort of sense that its coming. I think I read that it would take around 6 months or so after the release of the "current" TBCB to have the career mode ready. During that time we could have monthly (possibly weekly ) updates on how the career mode is coming. At that time I would love to give some ideas and input for the game. Lookin' forward to it.....

I have no doubt that we will consistently update everyone on the various modules and progress of the role-playing portion. Quite honestly, full-time work will begin on it the minute the simulation is done. If by some chance, everything falls into place and the concepts come together quickly and easily, and the complete role-playing segment is done in two months, it will be released in two months. There is nor was there any intent to try to make a "twin" killing by releasing the game in two parts and forcing people to potentially buy twice. How the upgrade path will be handled will, in no doubt, depend on two major factors: (1) how many additional aspects have been added to the sim, from its release to the next one; and (2) how significant is the role-playing module . . . and from our preliminary work and plans, it will probably be as big or bigger than the sim itself.

Incidentally, I've been trying to trade for Urlacher for my fantasy football keeper team for two years. No luck.
