Arslanbek Makhmudov?
Wow! Did anyone else watch the Farcity in the UK by Netflix? This is the kind of thing that buries boxing in the backwater of sports news. My only saving was I didn't watch it live. I waited until it was over so I could fast forward through the crappy bits and there were a lot of crappy bits.
Where did Fury's company dig up this slug Makhmudov? As bad as Fury is, he at least tries to look like he's been taught boxing basics. The Russian looks like someone they found in a cardboard box in an alleyway gave him trunks and gloves and hauled him into the ring. It was embarrassing. I almost never see live boxing anymore so I watched the first few rounds. I fast-forwarded through to the ninth, then the twelfth...all with the sound off because of the ridiculous excuse for a commentator. This travesty will not help promote a boxing sim... Cap

hmmmm
well good thing i dont have that so called streaming service. Paramount+ and several sections of DAZN are very good. This sham is most likely from the promoters hyping up Fury to try to face Usyk.
Having said that Cap you are the first to comment on a post fight since ummmmmm (shrugs) Anyway yes there is a serious lack of interest (not just here) but almost everywhere. I dunno what the problem is. But it appears that Matchroom Boxing, Queesland Boxing, anything dealing with Oscar, MAYBE Jake Pauls merry little band (not him as a fighter though), Paramount+, PBC, Ring and Im sure I am forgetting a few promotins but these are good. I saw one card in Germany about a month Ago (Huck was the main event) and that card was HORRIBLE I actually cringed when i saw some of those fight records and wondered WHY...The other day there was one in Africa and constant techinal difficulties (the main event was meh until it cut out but the ref was always alert) I know one problems is that among the MAIN HEADLINE fighters NONE of them are US. I know its cycical and more emphasis is being put on that MMA garbage but anyway...But yea wh just dont have the Ali, Mayweather, Oscar, Tyson, Klitschko eras anymore Usyk??? yea he is legit but no headlines here in the states. I dunno I am currently undertaking a MAJOR task away from TBCB (some of you already know what that is) and its a daunting task but doable been working on this this past week with quite a bit of success actually (i 'm pleased with the results so far) and dotn want to comment much on it (publicy at least for the board gods may not approve for some odd reason) oh well |

I can't imagine that Fury would fare any better against Usyk the third time around. I guess that would be better than Usyk fighting a converted kickboxer with one regular boxing match to his credit, which is apparently upcoming. I can understand why neither of them wants anything to do with Kabayel, but they could at least find a real fight.

Cap you are 100% correct... but that's the reason why I love the simulation, no promoters, no terrible judges or referees (unless we want them), no commentators who are obviously paid to hype one of the fighters. In general I prefer simulation games to real life, a lot less stressful.

I as well Penguin but when a license issue pops up it takes at least a day to resolve
but yea even random fight bouts can generate better stuff than the majority of the tv fights

The fight was awful but it was about what I expected. Makmuhdov is big and strong, but he's slow and has zero technical skills. I've seen a few of his fights and was never impressed. Hopefully Fury and AJ finally meet even if it is similar to Mayweather-Pacquiao where it is 5 years too late.
I believe Chris Mannix has said he has no problems with Usyk fighting that kickboxer after fighting AJ, Fury and Dubois. Usyk is entitled I suppose to make an optional defense but Kabayel definitely should be his next fight for sure (Unless Wardley beats Dubois and Usyk wants to be undisputed again. I have no interest in a 3rd Usyk-Dubois fight) There is a lot more activity as far as comments on fights on sites like Bad Left Hook or even Reddit. Boxing isnt dead, and there is plenty of interest in it. Just have to know where to look if you want to read and interact with other boxing fans about fights. I think most people except us die-hard TBCB players don't really frequent this forum since the game will never be updated or get a new version Last edited by Mugsy; 04-12-2026 at 11:07 PM. |

About the only boxing that exists for me is TBCB 2.5.

Aside from that rare event on Netflix, the only "live" boxing I see are highlights on Youtube. Probably the best bits actually.

Tonight one of those stupid Fanduel channels showed Pacquiao vs Cotto. But because there was no indication on screen of the fight date, and because I couldn't remember off the top of my head, I had to look up the fight online to find out that it took place in 2009.

fanduel is folding VERY SOON Fanduel sports Netwrk (formerly Bally Sports) is shutting down its operations. Parent company Main Street Sports Group announced it will cease operations for NBA and NHL teams at the end of their respective 2026 seasons. The network, which replaced the bankrupt Diamond Sports Group, is winding down due to severe financial issues.
