PPI/Extensions

As I understand it, Prospect Promotion Incentive status only gets nuked IRL if a player signs an extension before debuting.

But in the game, PPI gets nuked if you sign a player to an extension during the entire three-year period as I understand it (unless and until they earn a pick).

Has changing this to match the real-life system been discussed? Or, failing the ability to code that, could there be a way to turn that specific PPI rule off? I'm not sure I've ever seen the AI sign someone to an extension pre-debut anyway.

Rules>Amateur Draft settings> Use PPI rule.
This has a check box to enable/disable

Well I posted this bc I would like to use the rule lol...I want to be able to sign guys to extensions post-debut without PPI getting nuked, which is how it works IRL.

For instance IRL Chourio is ineligible bc he signed a contract pre-debut, but Kristian Campbell, had he stayed in the majors all season, would have remained eligible bc he signed the extension in mid-April after debuting.

But Campbell's extension, had it been signed in the game, would immediately nuke the PPI.

I thought you wanted
1. to be able to use the rule as it is IRL (as you state in the quote) I'd like that too.
2. if not able to have it work as IRL, you wanted a way to turn it off

At least I read this line as meaning if they couldn't match the real-life system, you wanted a way to turn the rule off. Maybe I misunderstood your post?

Lol it's all good! No I just meant the extension portion of the rule, not the entire rule itself. I would rather see it to where you could sign a player to an extension pre-debut and not lose PPI status (which I don't think any AI teams would really do anyway) than have any pre-arb extension nuke PPI.
