This Week In Baseball

Any of you folks ever play PureSim Baseball back in the day? I did very briefly. PureSim had so much potential. One of the features this game had was the weekly TWIB report it produced summarizing the leagues weekly goings on. This report was amazing. It featured an under the knife section listing the key players on the IL each week. It had a whose hot and whose not section. It had a list of the longest home runs hit during the week. A list of the weekly transactions. There were quite a few other things this report had as well.

This is something I've always wished OOTP would add to the game. I hardly ever even look at the OOTP newspaper, but I think I would devour a report that summarized each weeks play into a wrap up type display.

So many things could be added to this type of report.
Big League debuts
Top performances
Trades
Signings and other transactions
Big names on the trading block
Milestone watches
Standings both overall and by the week.
Players that announced their retirements

Wish I still had PureSim, so I could name some more of the reports it featured. Orcin if you're still out there, help me out here.

It could also feature a deal like the older of us grew up with in our weekly newspapers. The register of batting leaders and pitching leaders.

I'm with you on this DW. I have been trying and failing miserably to get AI to create me an app to perform these tasks. I've been pushing for a complete stats and tracking overhaul in the game for a few versions now. The devs seemed interested but it never got anywhere. Not sure it is "sexy" enough for the time / cost needed to make the upgrade, I'm afraid.

Please keep on pushing. As a solo player that plays only in the role of commissioner or that of super fan, I need all the help I can get when it comes to bringing my leagues to life.

My suggestion was as a (one-time) paid add-on but the general consensus was that wouldn't work. I disagree wholeheartedly, but what would I know?

I think milestones was one of the things the old PureSim game detailed in their report. Milestone definitely belong in such a report.
