It's been a while. Any advice on which league to start first

I haven't played OOTP in a while, like over 5 years with any consistency probably and am ready to jump back in.

There are three leagues I want to do, all as GM without managerial responsibilities, and all with the Giants. I will probably start all 3 eventually.

1- Giants starting at 1883. I'd have it accurate for leagues, rule changes, and minors (I know this is problematic in the 19th century) but have players develop by the in-game engine and not have players go to historical teams

2- Giants starting in 1987 (first year I followed baseball as a kid) same rule/development as above.

3- Current Giants starting using "Live Start"

Any thoughts on which you would start first?

I find myself falling back to the players and teams of my youth. I'd pick '87 but as long as you are having fun with a save that's all that matters

I’m biased but I would select to use my updated live start found in this post!
Updated ratings/potentials, R/L splits, all 2025 Draft players on correct teams, updated injuries et al.

Yeah, the 1987 one has so many players I think about and remember fondly, and your save CBLCardinals looks incredible too! This is why I can't choose where to start! Guess I might just have to get all 3 up and running and see what I gravitate towards

Lol he already beat me here, but was going to say try out CBL's rosters. I haven't played a stock OOTP game in a few years since he started dropping his. The base game rosters vs his are so laughable, this company should give him a full time job to take over the details.
