Players are randomly added to my major league roster

So I picked up and started playing again hoping that this problem would be fixed but I still keep getting random players added to my major league roster. It’s frustrating as the only way I can get rid of them is to release said player. Demoting doesn’t work. What gives? I’m I doing something wrong?

Also when I hit the action button, most of the time it doesn’t work. I really want to enjoy this game. Can I get some answers.

Do you have the setting turned on that has the AI managing your roster? That is what this sounds like…

I leave the minor league roster to AI. I could have my active roster at 26, I’ll sim a game and then it will be at 28 etc. when I try to demote it doesn’t remove them from the active roster so I always end up having to release the players.
