retired.dat Overflow Causing Corruption
I have noticed that, once retired.dat reaches 800,000 MB in size, player IDs are shuffled, leading to complete roster randomization. Any chance this can be patched, or is it something I'll have to work around?

We don't necessarily get around to answering every individual question.
Unfortunately, sometimes large leagues run into the limit of what the system can handle. You can try to post a picture of the Settings/Database tab, that might give us an idea of the overall size and scope of your league. Some options you can consider on the Players tab: -Enabling "Delete players who never reached Majors", that can help clear up excess minor leaguers. -Un-selecting "Don't re-use player IDs", that could let the game cycle back and use old ids for players -Using the Purge tool from the database tab - sometimes that can delete unused entries. Do make sure you have a backup of your game before using it. Unfortunately, if your league is already past the point where things are out of order/corrupted, there is likely nothing that can be done about that. But if you have a backup before that point, you can attempt any of those options, and see if they help. If you have a backup from just before things got out of order, you can try to upload that (https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...p-developments), and we can potentially investigate. |
