Why I’m Done with OOTP 26 — and Perfect Team for Good

After playing OOTP in 2024, skipping 2025, and giving it another shot with OOTP 26, I’ve decided I’m officially done — especially with Perfect Team. Here’s why:

The game has become a pay-to-win grind, plain and simple. Tournaments offer no real reward. You don’t win money, credit, or anything tangible — just digital bragging rights that disappear when the next version comes out. Once the servers shut down (as they’re doing with the 2024 version), everything you’ve invested — time, effort, and especially money — is gone. Start over or walk away.

Yes, you can earn free packs by watching Twitch streams, but I’m not about to leave a stream running in the background all day just to maybe get a half-decent card. And unless you’re spending real money to chase top-tier cards, you’re just cannon fodder for the whales.

I gave it a fair shake. I put $50 in, built a Bronze or Lower team, and did okay — placed 2nd in a few tournaments. Then came the early exits. Back to second place. Then swept again. It’s a yo-yo system with no real progression or balance. There’s no such thing as a “Perfect Team.” It’s just a bait loop. The only consistent winner here is the software company.

No hard feelings to the community — I know some of you genuinely enjoy the experience. But for me, it’s no longer worth the time or the money. I’ve resolved to spend both elsewhere.

Flame away if you want. I won’t be back to read this. Just wanted to share my honest experience before stepping away for good.

Why do people have to announce when they are leaving?

Do you this at social gathers and events and stuff?

Do you send a mass email at work letting everyone know you're done for the day?

Perfect team was always P2W. It's a stupid card game, they are all P2W.
Now you know and knowing is half the battle.

PT, MUT, Diamond Dynasty, Genshin Impact, Arknights, Wuthering Waves, and so many other games are all called Gacha games. You are taking a risk using real money, but some of these games usually give you out freebies. But really if you're dropping $50 just to play PT when OOTP has SO MUCH MORE to offer, then maybe OOTP is not the game for you? Also, probably not Madden, FIFA, or MLB The Show either, and they cost WAY more than OOTP does for less content!

While I don't begrudge anyone who enjoys it, after spending a few minutes with Perfect Team back whenever it was first introduced, I determined that it wasn't for me. Now I barely even notice it's there.

He's not wrong. If the devs don't like what you say on forums, they adjust your PT team to loose. I have mostly 90/high 80's 1990's legends, spend a boat load of money, spend hours and hours on the game, watching the twitch and playing 7-8 tourneys at a time. I loose every game even with 77% chemistry against teams that have garbage players and 11% chemistry with 60's rated players and one 99. This game is a joke. I want a refund of all my $$$$ I spent on PP.

I uploaded some images to show you. These Houston Spacemen lead the division. There are other teams like mine who should be squashing this garbage team. they are spending the dough too most likely. I speak out against Hollywood Pride LGBTQ team and ever since, all my teams suck, no matter what I do.

** Bad ass Dan Casey smokes Finley, Stairs, Williams, Jaha, Palmeiro, etc..meanwhile Mike Magnante has a 5.00 ERA!!!.

I mean this aint an airport no need to announce your departure. If you actually bought this just for the ultimate team I have no sympathy for you. Might wanna consider looking into a gambling addiction if that's what you play.

That's why they have diff play modes, diff people enjoy different styles. The argument that if you bought this due to PT then you are a gambling addict is ridiculous. If it weren't popular and a multitude enjoyed PT mode, then it wouldn't exist. OOTP makes waaaay more with PT than MLB simulations. Their best customers are the ones who spend money on PP points to raise their teams into higher brackets. Don't judge because you don't enjoy it. Play your way, others can play theirs.

Joey Meatball is just stating his opinion. He has valid points. You guys just rank on people because they have issues with the game. Dish yopu represent the brand and you do nothing to try to keep a customer, except to laugh at the guy. I spend my budgeted amount of entertainment money on this game. I am disabled and have limited funds. This is my only entertainment. I expect to be heard and responded to. I had issue with some team names and you close my post. BE WARY OF A COMPANY WITH NO DIRECT PHONE OR EMAIL FOR COMPLAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!! I am done too. You guys stand on your pedestal and preach but you dis customers. Horrible customer service. For one, I tried to help him out in the thread I was referring to with my comment and answering his question in a thread about trying to convince him to "Love PT Like You Do."
