Game refuses to back up -- error message
Starting yesterday, I have been able to back up my franchise.
It seems to be going all right, but when it gets to the end I get a message: "Error during backup function. The backup could not be updated." Game is saving without an issue and I have yet to have a crash. Knock on wood. |

Try backing up to a different location.

Uncertain how to do that. Instructions would be appreciated.

First off, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
First, there are 2 ways to back up a game, 1. Is saving your game automatically. You can set up how often under game settings (under file tab), global settings (first page), in the upper right-hand corner.. Unfortunately, I do not know how to change the save location. Saving the game only updates the files that have changed since the last save. 2. Is backing up the game. This is done manually. On the top left of your screen, select File, Backups. Backing up saves all the game's data.

You can also back up your game outside of OOTP by making a copy of the league folder.
