Question on Labs slots

So the Reveal Show said the default would be six slots per off-season to use development labs, but that you could edit that number. If you create more slots in franchise mode, (1) do the labs become less effective, and (2) does that open that many slots for every other team?

It would seem to me that there ought to be a max number you can send in a given off-season, and that if you send fewer than the max, it should be more effective. Just a thought ...

i doubt they become less effective increasing the slots, it just means more players can be worked on, but more tedious attention has to be done, unlike having 6 or fewer where u dont have to spend 15 minutes adjusting a laundry list.

And im sure the slider to adjust is league based. itd be unfair to have the AI not have as many as you do.

i have so many mixed feelings about this feature.

I'd think this is correct on distribution of slots to all teams and effectiveness not being watered down nor pumped up by the number of players.

I want to see it in action too. If it's too easy/consistent to get positive results I'll turn it off (in that scenario balance is going to get destroyed) and wait to see how it might be tweaked in the patch cycle.

FWIW I don' think that will be a problem. It's more likely users are posting complaints about trying to improve PlayerX and not having the success they think they should.

I'd also throw in the new larger ratings scale implemented will allow for changes in player skills in smaller increments. So while you may have a player improve in an area it may not be the jump you expected.

Time will tell.

This will be an issue with those players you can take that to the bank..lol.

I can see the posts already how player X didnt develop after the time expected , and then trying it again ...and again the same attempt , and nothing happens or goes negative in rating... we will see the complaints mount up .

Thats why im not sure if this will end up being a great addition or a total gamebreaker if it is on. Turning it off , is fine, but why not just stick with OOTP 24 then since the ratings adjustment will be the only new thing youll get from the game in terms of new additions to the core game.

Because it won't be the only reason to switch to v25. My experience playing since v4 is every version has given me new things that justify the purchase. It's never been just one thing, and it hasn't always been the "Big Thing" that was my favorite addition. Many times it's small additions or quality of life additions that end up being the "best" additions.

I ran into the same kind of issue before and found that sometimes changing my strategy mid-season helped smooth things out. Kinda like how popular arcade games in online casinos keep things fresh by mixing up gameplay, trying different combinations in your lineups or pitching rotation. Also, double-check player fatigue and morale—they sneak up and mess with performance more than I expected.
