Ratings Question
When it comes to ratings...
I know someone with Power is good for HRs, but what are the other ratings to get for batters and also for pitchers as well. Trying to get back into playing OOTP and trying to understand what the main ratings to look out for does for each player when singing FAs and drafting players. |

I think the easiest answer to your overall question (because all stats matter, and all say what they are) might be to look at players you know, or players who are highly rated and examine their stats. These batters are HR hitters, what do their profiles look like? This batter is a OBP machine, he walks a lot, what do his ratings look like? Same for pitchers.. This one typically leads the league in Ks, this one doesn't strike many out but has a low WHIP and HR given up.. that's really where you're going to make the connections. It's more helpful than someone just telling you what's before your eyes or trying to rank them in order. Players can be good in different ways, and those good players are tied to higher ratings.
