Same Player Can Be A Coach And Player?

I am playing a historic game, and looking to hire a young coach for my farm team. When doing a search, I see several currently active players available to be be hired as coaches.

I am even seeing some future coaches like Mike Peca listed as a hirable coach at age 13.

Yes, they're separate entities in the database. I've been trying to find a way to connect the two of them so we can have things like playing coaches, but haven't come up with anything workable yet that won't cause serious issues with AI roster management.
